Mobile dog grooming company to expand operations across Alabama

Apr 02, 2025

A dog grooming company that takes their services straight to the customer's door is expanding its operations in the Yellowhammer state.

Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers, a start-up that debuted in Texas and now has operations nationwide, has completed over 10,000 grooming visits in its two-year life span.

Lucky Dog utilizes mobile trucks to bring a full salon to their clients, so that dogs can get a full spa treatment — getting bathed, groomed, trimmed and "freshened up," according to their website — in the comfort of their own home.

The company has operated in Montgomery since April 2024, with a second truck coming to the area due to high demand a few months later in July. Two more Lucky Dog trucks came to Birmingham in September, and now, Huntsville is the next Alabama city slated to get trucks in the summer of 2025.

By 2027, the company hopes to increase its capacity so that they can staff 10 trucks in Alabama.

In the two years since Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers' debut, the company has expanded to nationwide operations and completed 10,000 grooming visits.

Grooming can be stressful for dogs, the company says, so they utilize a model that take a one-on-one grooming experience to dogs to decrease that stress. Additionally, the company said it helps owners of all kinds, from the busy nine-to-five worker to those who are homebound with mobility issues.

Lucky Dog allows users to make appointments on the company website and choose from different preset packages. Users also get before and after photos of their pets and insights into caring for their dog's specific coat in the post-session "grooming report."
